From Dallas to Madrid: BANG YONGGUK’S Europe Tour 2019

Less than a month ago, fellow team member X.O and I decided to pack our bags on a whim and plan a trip to Spain, a country we both have never been to, marking our first time out of North America. For what you may ask? Originally, it was for vacation. We had all intentions of going to Spain for just vacation up until it was announced that Bang Yongguk would be touring Europe and decided we would visit a city that was part of his tour. Because we were originally heading to Barcelona, we decided that maybe we should go to Paris for the tour, but with our bad luck, the concert sold out the minute we tried to book tickets so in the end, Madrid it was! Without a doubt in mind, we purchased tickets to see the concert and closed the deal. I booked our flights, trains, and accommodations and finally, we were set off to visit the country of Spain where, according to one of our taxi drivers there, “the paella is the best and the metro is the most efficient”.

Before we even set off American soil, we were quick to notice how efficient and down to earth the tour organizers were by the way they interacted with fans of Bang Yongguk through all of their social media handles. They interacted with fans, answered their questions, had fun conversations with them, and overall were able to keep things intimate as well as professional with directing how the day of events would go on. I was both amazed and inspired by their friendliness and chill way of working, something that you rarely find here in America when it comes to concerts and tours.

The day of the actual concert was amazing. The venue was a club in Madrid with an intimate setting and beautifully decorated. Staff and fans were both very efficient when it came to figuring out how lining up would work and making sure everyone was in their right place before doors opened for Gold ticket holders. During the actual hi-touch and photo-op session, I noticed how different K-POP concerts were organized in Europe compared to here in America. Each fan was able to take a photo next to the artist, and the groups were only of four, rather than of 10 to 20. Even the fans were helping staff members switch out fans and make sure the photo-op process was as smooth as possible. It was quite cute to witness and I wish it were to work as well here as it did in Madrid.

The actual concert was my favorite part. Never ever have I witnessed such passion and love for performing as I did when Bang Yongguk began performing. You could see how deep and passionate he was towards his music, his lyrics, and his fans when he began his performance. I stood in the back and was able to take in the intimate atmosphere that arose from the relationship between the artist and his fans. It was so beautiful to witness fans tearing up and crying to both his lyrics and the passion he showcased when performing AM 4:44, a song that spoke deeply to many and whose lyrics showcased his personal struggles physically and emotionally during harsh times back in 2015. It left me speechless to see how a rollercoaster of emotions spread throughout the venue that night with each song performed.

The setlist for the whole concert was based on his first full album, BANG YONGGUK. He performed every song on the album and even performed YAMAZAKI, a song that many fans were very excited to see live for the first time outside of Asia. The atmosphere was never quiet and was always either heartfelt or hype, a perfect combination of emotions for an outstanding show. Even in the beginning, before show even began, there was a DJ, DJ EBONY, as the opening act, and fans were happily dancing and jamming out to his music. I found it hilarious when he played “Gasolina” by Daddy Yankee which to my surprise, was actually a requested song by the fans. It brought tears of laughter to my eyes because it was a song that threw me back to my old elementary and middle school years.

As the show closed, the staff apologized for earlier misunderstandings and thanked everyone for their cooperation and patience. They even took photos with the fans which I found adorable and reminded me so much of KPD, who always takes photos at the end of every KWF or event we put on. K-EVENTS were honestly one of the best organizers I have ever had the pleasure to witness in work, and their personality and friendliness with fans reminded me so much of my team (KPD) when it came to our old times of working behind the scenes at concerts in Dallas and at our own organized events. It was heartwarming to see that there are people out there in the industry who want nothing but everything for the fans and only the fans. They had so much love and care and thought for the fans, that it truly made me smile and wish more organizers were like them when it came to concerts and tours. Along with them, I was amazed at how passionate and how much love the artist had for his craft and his fans. It was like a breath of fresh air to attend a concert where it didn’t even feel super strict or commercially made/produced like others I’ve been to. It felt free, real and intimate. I wish more concerts and shows were like this one was.

To conclude, I want to thank K-EVENTS for their amazing organization and friendliness throughout the tour, and of course to Bang Yongguk for an amazing show that will be engraved into my memories as one of the best concerts I’ve ever attended. I also want to thank his staff and to all the fans in Madrid who were welcoming to both of us despite us being from out of the country. If K-EVENTS were ever to venture overseas, or if you are ever able to attend any of their concerts or events in Europe, I highly recommend them, and if Bang Yongguk were ever to perform in the U.S, I highly recommend you to attend one of his shows. You will not be disappointed.

BTS Playing Card Games in Dallas!

Good Afternoon guys!!! This week I will be reviewing the VLIVE’s stickers. I bought BTS’s UNIVERSTAR BT21: Must Have Emoji characters. I am able to use these stickers in the BTS and BTS+ channel. Honestly they are the cutest stickers ever! I was able to use the stickers on BTS’s latest episode, episode 68.

This episode is special to me because they were in Dallas when they filmed this episode!!! When they said Dallas I was like YUHHHHH THATS MY HOMETOWN!! Haha anyways it looked like they were in a meeting room of the hotel. At the same time I felt sad because the boys were not able to view or explore the great town of Dallas! I mean the first time they came for the RED BULLET TOUR thousands of fans waited for them at the airport to result the boys never came because they flew private. A lot of fans left the airport sad and disappointed.

I remember when they went to Six Flags the first time they came around and they wanted to go this time again and the park was closed. One of the members mentioned it during the concert and I think it was Jin who mentioned it but I don’t remember exactly. How awesome would it be to bump into them at Six Flags! I would have tried to challenge them on who would ride the Texas Giant with me but in the very front !! 😂

Back to the episode! They were playing a really confusing game that I didn’t even understand after going back and reading the rules twice! Omg some of the fans in the comments even said they didn’t even understand it either and I was like SAME!! 😂 As much as I wanted to understand it I couldn’t! I just kept watching for their expressions and to spam them with the stickers I bought LOL.

This was me during the whole game LMAO

They reminded so much of my friends and I when we play games! When we would spend hours at Gongcha playing UNO and slap. We were those loud people in the corner cursing and screaming at each other! 😂 It was honestly impossible for us to be quiet there… I’m always aggressive when I play games so I was Jin in this episode trying to beat everyone!

This is my friends and I 😂

This game had a punishment too. So the loser would have to wear a t-shirt that Jimin personally designed a while back he didn’t even remember. To result Jimin ended up being the loser and had to wear his own t-shirt LMAO it would be him. He had to wear it returning back to Korea! I looked it up online and he did wear it!! J-Hope and V tagged along and wore it too, omg how cute. I bet they were like, we can’t leave our homeboy suffer alone 😂 Even though J-Hope was in the winning team with Suga.

ARMYS~~

I was going to watch the BTS+ episode which I think it was the same one but with different content, because they also started the video by screaming WORK HARD IN DALLAS, WORK HARD IN DALLAS, DALLASSSSS! LOL These kids 😂 But I couldn’t watch it because I had to pay. If you’re subscribed to their plus channel then definitely watch it and let me know what games they played haha!

[V.FRIENDS] VLIVE Lightsticks and Stickers!

Hello everyone! I’m back with another review for VLIVE! This time, rather than home in Dallas, I’m coming at you from Madrid, Spain!

This week, we are reviewing two features that were added to VLIVE to enhance your experience through the app with a cute and techy twist!

If you’re a frequent user of messaging apps, you may have noticed that almost all of them offer a sticker feature when sending messages. Well, it turns out that the VLIVE app also offers this feature! While watching your favorite idol’s VLIVE broadcast, you are able to send messages and stickers during their broadcast. For reviewing purposes, I purchased and downloaded some cute BT21 stickers off of BTS’s VLIVE Store. To my advantage, it turned out that Jin’s broadcast from earlier today was available to rewatch! Since I was bored and relaxing after a long flight, I decided to give the stickers a try and watch the broadcast.

One major thing I love about the stickers compared to other services that offer stickers for messaging, is that you receive  a ton of them in a set! If you knew me, you would know that my KKT account is filled with stickers that I’ve bought throughout the years and to be honest, none of the sets come with as many stickers as the ones in the VLIVE store. Because of this, there’s definitely a variety to choose from so whatever emotion you’re feeling can easily be portrayed! 😄

Moving on to the next and final feature I’ll be reviewing which is the lightsticks feature! This feature allows you to send 2x as many hearts during a broadcast. Although very helpful in getting more hearts for your favorite idols broadcasts, ,the lightsticks feature isn’t my favorite compared to the stickers feature mostly because I don’t see myself using this feature as much. The main reason is that although nifty and cute, I tend to watch VLIVE broadcasts on my breaks or on random whims so I don’t really send many hearts to begin with OTL I KNOW IM A HORRIBLE FAN

Although I don’t personally use this feature, I must admit it’s quite nifty to be able to go ham on hearts during a broadcast and show your support. I must also admit that I enjoy the cute 3D mode offered with lightsticks and I can see it being useful when you’re jamming out with friends to a concert DVD and don’t own a physical lightstick. You could definitely pull out your virtual one and jam out with it and have a mini concert in your room. LOL

VLIVE has been adding various features to their app for the longest and I’m excited to see what else they’ll offer.

If you would like to purchase a lightstick or sticker, visit your VLIVE app, click on the middle shopping bag icon the click either stickers or lightsticks and purchase from there! I HIGHLY recommendthe stickers because they’re super cute and add a little bit of love to messages you send your favorite idols~
